Frequently Asked Questions
For those of you prone to find the answer on your own, this page offers a treasure trove of answers/information on the common questions we receive every day. Since questions come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors, we’ve placed them in categories to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
Don’t feel like digging for the answer? Just give us a call or email us and we’d be glad to help out.
Yes. As of 2013 it is legal in all 50 states!
Generally speaking, the answer is no to this one, although every state has different laws.
Again, this differs per state, but it is normally capped at 200 gallons.
Wack! (that was us hitting you upside the head). No. Distilling it is not legal ANYWHERE in the United States, contrary to what you may have heard on TV, or from that know-it-all user on your favorite forum.
Actually, no. Homebrewers have very weird taste buds and only make beer that they like and no one else can drink (sarcasm completely intended). Next question!
No, but there is a good chance you’ll make a mess. Your significant other may consider the mess a “blow up” but that’s more in the figurative sense.
Check out our store page for address and hours.
Head on over to our Contact Page for details on how to get ahold of us.
Yes. We have suggested yeasts for each of our beer kits that we can help you with, and if ordering on the web, you can simply select which yeast you want from the actual product page of the beer kit.
Yes indeed! You can order fractional quantities of any of the grain we sell (base and specialty). We measure grain in pounds so when you add the item to the cart, just make sure the number you put in is in pounds. For example, if your recipe calls for 4 oz. of a type of grain, you would enter .25
Online Shopping Questions
Generally, we use FedEx to ship our products to you. Gift Cards are shipped via the post office. We also use the post office from time to time to ship very small items, or for the occasional order where FedEx does not make sense.
That’s a great question! Assuming you used our standard Flat Rate or FedEx ground shipping, just check out this map to see an estimate for how many days it will take your order to be delivered, after its left our warehouse. If you selected an expedited option, the standard transit times apply (FedEx Overnight = 1 day, FedEx 2Day = 2 days, FedEx Express = 3 days). Check our Shipping & Return Policy page for more info.
Yeah, that’s a bit confusing, but we can’t really change it! Just go ahead and put in your normal shipping address, but choose the “In-Store Pickup” option. We’ll make sure not to send it out, and it’ll be here waiting for you at the store.
At this time we do not ship internationally.
No need to panic. Relax. Don’t worry. Have a homebrew! After that, head on over to our Contact Page and get ahold of us (phone or email – whatever works best for you), and we’ll get you straightened away. Orders typically ship out within 1 business day, so make sure to contact us ASAP. Orders that have already been shipped cannot be cancelled or changed!
